What is SEO:
When a person wants to search anything they usually rely on search engines. By now there is more than 130 million registered website on the internet and people use search engines to search for them. There are 91% of people who use them. About 80% of people use google but SEO can be applied to any type of search engine.
When people search something they usually look at the first page and don't bother with the next pages. They usually change their words and start their work from scratch. No matter how much batter is the next website they just don't bother with it. Usually, people pay Google to bring their websites on the first page but most of the people can't afford it. So people go towards SEO.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Through this process, people can promote their websites and bring them to the top of the search engine. This is a free process and is very beneficial for your website. This enhances the quality of your website and the material in it. It is known as organic listing because people do not pay for bringing their website up the food chain.
SEO uses the process called ranking. Through this process, a website is ranked and brought up the search result page. In the early days, a website was ranked by the number of keywords in a particular post. So the more keywords the higher it will rank. After some time there were two people who actually researching regarding there paper they stumbled upon an idea. They thought that it does not matter that how many times a keyword is shown in the post the most important thing is that other papers approve of it. This idea was later was applied to websites. This brought out the concept of backlinks. Backlinks are the reference to your particular website. The more backlinks and better the quality of it, the higher your website will be ranked on the search engine. Keywords are also very important.
Keywords tell what your website is about and then back links promote your websites and help it to rank higher.
Types of SEO:
There are three basic types of SEO.
- Black hat SEO: Which is doing SEO but don't following all the rules of it.
- White hat SEO: Which is doing SEO by following all of the rules of it.
- Gray hat SEO: Which doing SEO by following some of the rules of it but also ignoring some of it as well.
These 3 types give us a basic understanding of SEO. Now we are going to discuss types of SEO in terms of process.
- On-Page SEO.
- Off-Page SEO.
On-Page SEO:
Onsite SEO is the optimization of your websites by different means. In this process, you have to go through the various processes to rank your website.
The first step of SEO is keyword research. You have to understand the mindset of the person who wants to find your website. You need to find that one particular keyword that the user is going to search for. This will drastically increase the chances of someone finding your website. You must also be careful while researching that you choose the keywords which have low difficulty because such keywords are easy to ranks. There are many tools on the internet but the free one is google Ad-word.
Next is editing the material of your web page. You must make the website more and more user and device friendly. You must know how to draw on the website so that the traffic on your website is increased. If a person does not like your post then they quickly jump from your website to another website. So you must follow certain rules while doing SEO.
Process:
- First, your length of the article must be sufficient so that the google could rank your article. If the article is less then 350 words then google will not rank it.
- The keyword which you have chosen for this article must be in the title of the article so that the person could know that the keyword that they have searched for is in the article.
- If there is an image then the keyword must also be in their alt text. Otherwise, Google will not rank it.
- You must create inbound and outbound links so that your website could be ranked.
- You must contain a meta description that people know about your article.

They are a type of application that makes your work a lot easier. There is a plugin which is called Yoast SEO. This helps you to complete the SEO of your website. It will all of the errors in the articles so that you could improve it.

Off-Page SEO:
After completing the onsite SEO, we have to do offsite SEO. It mainly consists of promoting your websites on other websites. This process is called creating back links. When we create a backlink, we give our website address so that the traffic of our website increases as well as its ranking. There are no specific types of backlinks. We can promote our websites in any way we see fit. The basic types that we use are:
- Comment backlinks: in which we give a comment regarding their post and also promoting our websites by giving its address.
- Bookmarks: In this type, we basically create a post by potting a URL of our website and writing a title and description of that particular post. This will display our website as an add, which will increase its traffic.
These are the main types of back links. As we discussed above back links are very important for the ranking of your websites. Without back links a website cannot be ranked hence it will be like that your website does not even exists.

- After the first step, the specific search engine that you are using to rank will send crawlers on your website so that they can access your work, find your key phrase/keyword and also check the website for plagiarism.
- After the crawlers have are done accessing your websites the search engine will use a specific set of algorithms to determine your rank.
- The fourth step will include indexing, your website will be indexed on the search page.
- After that your website will display on the search page.
SEO is a ongoing process which will include continuous modification. This will take time because it is a very long process. Sometimes it takes months to rank a specific website.
